Program Information
The Robbins MBA Healthcare Program is a specialization within the Master of Business Administration program in the Hankamer School of Business of Baylor University. Located on the main Baylor campus in Waco, Texas, the program was established in 2003.
The Robbins MBA Healthcare Program aims to become a reliable source of motivated, committed, and highly-trained executive leaders for service to the health services industry. Admission to the program is competitive. We seek individuals with outstanding scholarship, leadership potential, a commitment to community service, and a motivation to pursue an intense MBA program.
The MBA degree with the healthcare specialization consists of 60 credit hours, with 30 hours of core MBA courses and 30 hours of healthcare-specific courses, including a 9-credit-hour executive residency.
One of the greatest strengths of the program is the executive residency. The residency placement process is highly personalized; students work with the program’s preceptor coordinator to achieve an individualized match to a residency site. During the required seven-month paid residency, sequenced after the second semester of didactic work, students work closely with a preceptor and interact with numerous officers and employees throughout the residency site. An integral part of the program is preparing students for, placing them in, and monitoring their progress throughout the residency.
